Extruders

Fine International offers a full range of extruders for various wire and cable production.  The diameter ranges from 20 MM through 150 MM and configured with varying L/D ratios (20 - 40).  The typical cable applications including primary solid insulation extrusion, foam extrusion, jacketing extrusion and auxillary striping and skin extrusion.
 

The principle extruders are constructed on heavy duty steel square supports designed for wire line heights of 1000 mm or 1073 mm (42.25").  The bimetallic barrels are heated by aluminum cast heaters (or bronze cast heaters for high temperature extrusion).  The gear box has precision ground, double helically reducing gears immersed in a self contained lubricant with auxillary water cooling.  All extruders are equipped with stainless steel hoppers with sight glass.  Fine's extruders use AC motors (380V/3/50Hz or 480V/3/60Hz) in conjunction with AC vector flux drives.

Fine also provides a family of auxillary extruders suitable for striping or skin coat applications.  The extruder is supported on a rigid tubing frame on castors allowing for portability within the manufacturing environment.  The extruder height and orientation is simply adjusted to mate with the often varying requirements of coextrusion and multilayer extrusion crossheads.  The control panel can be provided as an integral part of the extruder stand or housed in a remote cabinet.  Typical extruder will be a 30 mm 24:1 with 5.5 kW AC motor.
